We had a great time with my sister Kelly and niece Sydney in San Antonio this past weekend. We headed out on the road Thursday afternoon after picking up Alec from preschool. It was a nice little road trip with no snags along the way. The kids did great in the van...it really helps having the DVD player and some Veggie Tales as a backup! So, on Friday we spent the morning just hanging out and relaxing, then took a little walk to their park (which was REALLY nice). The bike trail to the park is right behind their house! Then we went to the Riverwalk and saw the sites and ate at the Rainforest Cafe. It was a really fun day. On Saturday we went miniture golfing, and had a great time despite the chilli misty weather. Easter sunday we went to their church and enjoyed a wonderful service. At the end of his sermon he had people come up on the stage one at a time (with worship music playing) holding signs that on on side said where they were without Christ and on the back where they are with with Christ. For example one said on the front "Alcoholic" and on the back "Jesus quenched my thirst"...it was powerful. Anyway, we attempted to get pics of the kids in the Easter clothes after church, but Ava was not in the mood apparently. We had Kelly's famous Chicken Tortilla soup for lunch which was really good! After dinner we dyed eggs, had an egg hunt and then played with the Cascarones (confetti eggs). It was a really fun weekend. Here are some pics.
On the Riverwalk!

Waiting to be seated at the Rainforest Cafe.

Walking to the park.

Before playing a little mini golf!

Before church with their Easter baskets...they are both smiling!

After church....Ava was not up for more pics.

When we got back to Kelly's house...she was calm again.

Right before the egg hunt. Ava took the opportunity to grab the first egg while we were taking the pic.

Showing off their eggs!

So pretty!

It looks like you guys had a great time. We are really looking forward to seeing you all in July. All of the kids are getting so big!! Jimmy, Steph, Rex, and Titus are driving through town this weekend so we will get to spend some time with them. I can't believe their time in the states is almost over! Talk to you soon!
I can't get over how big Syd is. Kelly looks great. Can't wait to see you all.
So, jealous that you were there, that's one of our favorite places to go "Riverwalk". Looks like you had a great time.
